The Wood Truss Council of America's (WTCA) Board of Directors along with the executive committees of Steel Truss & Component Association (STCA) and Structural Component Distributors Association (SCDA) approved the formation of a committee entitled the Structural Building Components Council (SBCC), with representation from WTCA, STCA, and SCDA.

SBCC's Purpose . . .
SBCC encourages the development and coordination of work, across industry segments, to facilitate the manufacture, sale and distribution of all types of components and component technologies. This includes advancing current and encouraging innovative component technologies that can be sold through member companies. SBCC desires to use the synergy and perspective of WTCA, STCA and SCDA to ensure that structural building components are the framing method of choice.

What We Do . . .
Through the WTCA, STCA, and SCDA coalition, SBCC facilitates strategic planning. SBCC will furthermore maintain a communications program to disseminate existing, emerging and innovative information on structural building component products, manufacturing, marketing, distribution, economics, technology, and management practices.

For Whom . . .
SBCC works for members of WTCA, STCA and SCDA and the respective suppliers of these associations.

Why . . .
Because of the groups involved, SBCC can act as a focal point for facilitating and assisting with the future growth of the structural building component industry thereby enhancing the likelihood that our industry will reach its full potential.
